All my life I have always wanted to help people who needed it the most. So, when I decided to go to community college, my major was education. After being in community college I didn't feel the passion that I needed to flourish in the teaching world anymore. I switched my major from education to social work for more macro-work. I later transferred to Texas State where I discovered my love for teaching again. Since switching my major I feel like teaching has been my calling from the start. I have found my true passion for teaching, which is amazing. I really want to work with the low-income community because they might not get the equal opportunity for a good education.
I would like to teach Science or English because those were two of the subjects that I thrived in during my years in school. I'm open to teaching any grade level but if I had I choose it would have to be 1st grade. I would like to teach 1st grade because they are always to ready to learn new things and move on from their kinder ways. I would like to teach at low-income school to help students who don't have much to reach their full potential in school. I want my students to come to me after they graduate and tell me that I had some impact in them succeeding in school. I also want to create a safe space for my students who might not have one at home.
